Through scholarships funded by the generosity of our community, we support students who face significant barriers to higher education, helping ensure that talent and potential, not circumstance, shape their future.

This year, a brilliant team of York St John staff and students are taking on the York Dragon Boat Challenge to raise vital funds for our scholarship programme. With plenty of paddling power, they’re racing to help us move closer to our ambition that every eligible student who applies for a scholarship can receive one.

Students facing social or economic inequality often encounter the greatest barriers to university, despite having the most to gain. Our scholarships help remove those barriers, providing vital financial support and the confidence students need to succeed in their studies.
